Markus Frank is Deputy Mayor of the City of Frankfurt am Main heading the Department of Economy, Sports, Public Safety and Fire Prevention. He started his political career in 1992 as Member of the district board of the CDU (Christian Democratic Party). In 1997, he became member of the city parliament of Frankfurt am Main. From 1999 to 2009, he was environmental spokesperson for the CDU´s city council fraction. Markus Frank is a trained motorcar mechanic, receiving his master craftsmen certification in 1992. He founded and operates a business in the automobile industry. In 2000, Mr. Frank was awarded the Founders Prize by the German Confederation of Skilled Crafts. Since 2005, he has been member of the board of the automobile guild.
